With 6 years of experience in software development, I have had a fair share of accomplishments across different workplaces. Some of which are:

• Built the online media (social media and news outlets) monitoring service for INEC - the electoral body in Nigeria, to monitor conversations leading up to the Nigerian National Election in February 2023, with support for live conversations and events as they happen on the election day.

• Built a queue monitoring service that self-manages failed and buggy background jobs. It drastically reduced the number of emergency hot fixes on weekends.

• Implemented a feature to enable tenant organization users (subscribed to Visu) integrate 3rd-party addons and services for billing, HR attendance, ticketing etc. into their tenant account. Post-signup surveys showed that, at least, 20% of new signups were motivated by the fact that they could easily integrate their existing systems (for accounting, identity, attendance etc) with Visu.

• Refactored product search and profile pages to improve user experience and web vitals score for LCP and CLS by ~ 2.5 seconds.

• Migrated critical search filters for the backend from a CakePHP application to a Node.js microservice powered by MongoDB with search results streamed through Kafka/Confluence.

• Migrated critical search filters for the frontend from a CakePHP application to a React/Typescript application powered with Redux. Results from the A/B tests showed that users with access to the new search spent more time on the search page and interacted more with the search filters.

This is one of the reasons I find it fulfilling specializing in full-stack development, bringing proficiency in both front-end and back-end technologies.

I am also really good in software requirements gathering and documentation, software architecture design and documentation, and database design and normalization (to the 3NF, at least).
